Call for Artwork for New York State Thruway Service Plazas
Picture That is purchasing artwork and photography to enhance the interiors of New York State Thruway Service Plazas. The geographic scope of this project spans from the southernmost plaza in Ardsley, NY to the westernmost plaza near Niagara Falls, NY; traversing the beautiful Hudson River landscape of Downstate New York and also the mountainous regions of Upstate.
ARTIST ELIGIBILITY
Artists, Photographers and Graphic Designers, who are New York State residents and live near one of the 17 designated NY State Thruway Service Plazas, are eligible for consideration. Our goal is to purchase artwork from a diverse slate of artists who reside in, or within a 25-mile radius, of one of the following towns: Albany, Angola, Ardsley, Buffalo, Clarence, Clifton Springs, Corfu, Danube, Hastings on Hudson, Iroquois, Le Roy, Little Falls, Malden, Modena, New Baltimore, Newburgh, Ontario, Oneida, Pattersonville, Pembroke, Plattekill, Poughkeepsie, Ramapo, Rochester, Ruby, Saugerties, Schenectady, Syracuse, Troy, Ulster, Utica, Wallkill, Warners, Westmoreland, White Plains. Proof of residency will be required.

DESIRED THEMES
Themes that depict beautiful, impactful and/or unique characteristics of each local community are preferred. Images may include but are not limited to: landscapes, riverscapes, botanicals, statues/landmarks, architecture, barns, farms, mountains, trains, bridges and lighthouses.
*Images that are not located in one of the eligible towns listed above will be disqualified.

REQUIRED MATERIALS
1. 5 jpg file(s) of artwork for initial consideration should be submitted. 150 dpi or greater (3.5" in size). Name the jpg file(s) the same as artwork title.
2. Artist Bio and/or Artist Statement (PDF files are preferred).
3. A listing of each of the works including: title, year created, medium, size (height x width x depth), price and geographic location.
