The Picture That Appraisal Team is led by Valerie A. Cooper, an Accredited Member of the Appraisers Association of America, a member of the New England Appraisers Association, and a 2010 graduate of New York University Appraisal Studies in Fine and Decorative Arts program.

 

Our extended network of appraisers include highly qualified experts who complete appraisal reports that conform to the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), of the Appraisal Foundation in Washington, DC., the organization charged by the United States Congress to promote quality appraisal standards and qualifications for appraisers. USPAP principles are recognized by appraisal bodies worldwide.

We have additional specialty in the appraisal of photography and wine. In addition to each appraisal report being objective and well-researched, they include digital pictures, descriptions, measurements, current condition and a value for each item. In addition, information about the artist's background, provenance and exhibition history may be listed. Comparables selected for determining values are kept in the client's work file and can be requested at any time.

 

The appraisal begins with scheduling an appointment to examine, measure and document details about the objects.  Our appraisal fees are based on an hourly rate and are a function of time and assignment complexity.
