Call for Artwork for New York State Thruway Service Plazas Near Buffalo New York

Picture That is purchasing artwork and photography to enhance the interiors of New York State Thruway Service Plazas near Buffalo, NY. The geographic scope of this project spans from the southernmost plaza in Ardsley, NY to the westernmost plaza near Niagara Falls, NY; traversing the beautiful Hudson River landscape of Downstate New York and also the mountainous regions of Upstate.

 

 

ARTIST ELIGIBILITY

Artists, Photographers and Graphic Designers, who are New York State residents and live near one of the designated NY State Thruway Service Plazas, are eligible for consideration. Our current goal is to purchase artwork from a diverse slate of artists who reside in, or within a 100-mile radius, of Buffalo or one of the following towns: one of the following towns: Albany, Angola, Ardsley, Clarence, Clifton Springs, Corfu, Danube, Hastings on Hudson, Iroquois, Le Roy, Little Falls, Malden, Modena, New Baltimore, Newburgh, Ontario, Oneida, Pattersonville, Pembroke, Plattekill, Poughkeepsie, Ramapo, Rochester, Ruby, Saugerties, Schenectady, Syracuse, Troy, Ulster, Utica, Wallkill, Warners, Westmoreland, White Plains.. Proof of residency will be required.

DESIRED THEMES

Themes that depict beautiful, impactful and/or unique characteristics of each local community are preferred. Images may include but are not limited to: landscapes, riverscapes, botanicals, statues/landmarks, architecture, barns, farms, mountains, trains, bridges and lighthouses.
 
Some locations we would love to be depicted in your artwork include, but are not limited to: Delaware Park, The Buffalo Zoo, Erie Basin Marina and Gardens, Tifft Nature Preserve, Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens, Lafayette Square, Glen Falls Park, Larkin Square, Buffalo Harbor State Park, Japanese Garden, NFTA Small Boat Harbor Marina, and LaSalle and Front Parks.

*Images that are not located in or near the eligible town listed above will be disqualified.

REQUIRED MATERIALS

1. 5 jpg file(s) of artwork for initial consideration should be submitted.  150 dpi or greater (3.5" in size). Name the jpg file(s) the same as artwork title.
2. Artist Bio and/or Artist Statement (PDF files are preferred).
3. A listing of each of the works including: title, year created, medium,

size (height x width x depth), price and geographic location.
