THE ARTIST

Sheridan Vincent

Rochester, NY

Sheridan Vincent is very fortunate to live in Rochester for so many reasons. He has lived there since 1974 when he moved from Minnesota to pursue a career at Kodak. He retired in 2005 and, since then, has enjoyed continuing his lifetime in the photography industry, now as a photographer. The Rochester region is very photogenic with lake shores, fabulous parks, four-seasons, and an interesting skyline. His photographic interests specialize in landscapes and cityscapes of the Rochester region, most often with a panoramic perspective. His photographs have been purchased and are on display in numerous professional offices and residences, where they are appreciated as reminders of Rochester’s photogenic character. He is a partner at Image City Photography Gallery, in Rochester’s Neighborhood of the Arts where his photographs are routinely exhibited.

He very much enjoys trying to keep up with the advancing capabilities in play today with camera, software, and media. He strives to keep up with the state of the art and enjoys producing large photographs with exceptionally crisp detail.

All his photographs can be produced in various sizes with media ranging from conventional frames, canvas, face-mounted acrylic, and AluminArte.

THE ART

Warm Lights, Cool City, 2009

Photography

A winter cityscape, Warm Lights, Cool City features the “High Falls,” one of Rochester’s three waterfalls on the Genesee River and the Rochester skyline. It is a popular destination for visitors any time of year, especially photographers. Sheridan Vincent enjoyed capturing the warm color of the city lights contrasted with the colder color of the waterfall and river.
