Doing our pART Hot trends target your neighborhood
When BlumShapiro, an accounting, tax and business consulting firm, headquartered in West Hartford, CT, engaged Picture That Art Consultants to add the finishing touch to its newly renovated facility, they had three objectives.
Commemorate their West Hartford and Greater Hartford-area roots
Provide a sense of history and connection to their culturally diverse workforce and clientele
Work within budget and scope
The client had vision, but they needed design expertise to outfit their new space. Picture That's mission, after all, is to "Make your vision a reality."
Embarking on an exciting, fulfilling journey, Picture That worked within a two-year timeline under the direction of BlumShapiro, CEO and leadership, scouting through thousands of art images and conducting dozens of consultations with art vendors and suppliers. In turn, Picture That met the client's objectives with flying colors--and we mean, vivid color along with black and white!
As a result, the company's unique art collection includes a selection of images and photographs of well-known historical figures as well as lesser-known local personalities. For example, American writer, Mark Twain; American lexicographer, Noah Webster; American abolitionist and author, Harriet Beecher Stowe; chief executive of Hartford's legendary G. Fox department store, Beatrice Fox Auerbach and Hartford's first African-American policewoman and community advocate, Ella Brown.
Other signature photographs in the BlumShapiro collection are of modern-day landmarks that include the Old State House and Capitol building and of prominent historical landmarks like the YMCA building, photographed between 1900 and 1910.
