Turned the school around from an initial start-up of twelve students, to its high, of nearly five hundred in just four years. Though just a two year program, we were able to place many students in creative jobs for The Rolling Stones, GE Electric, Tommy Boy Records, Coca Cola Company, The World Wrestling Federation, CT Magazine, and many small advertising agencies in CT. I created much of the original curriculum. For many years our school was used as the model for investors into the CEC Corporation. I taught over ten courses including, Portfolio, Art History, Drawing, 3D Design, 2D Design, History of Graphic Design and Color Theory.
1998 to 1999. Instructor. Brien McMahon High School. Taught two classes - Photography, and Basic Art. Many of my students won first prize in district art shows. When I had to leave at the end of the year due to budget cuts, students started a petition with over 450 signatures asking I be allowed to continue to teach.
1984 to 1998. Creative Director/Designer for Schumann Design, my own freelance graphic design studio. Designed, illustrated, and wrote copy for companies in CT. Designed book covers, logos, catalogs, posters and direct mail. I was a seven time winner from The Ad Club of Fairfield County.
