Elizabeth Baez

Elizabeth Erazo Baez is a Latina born in Brooklyn, New York of Puerto Rican parents. She celebrates her bicultural perspective as a New Yorican who had the fortunate opportunity to grow up both in New York City and Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

Baez’s art is influenced by her Hispanic heritage—folklore, music, and dance. New to the collection is an abstract line of work, inspired by spirituality, nature and pure passion.

Baez received an Associate in Arts and Sciences for Art and Advertising Design from New York City Tech College, and has worked on the creative side of the marketing industry. In 2000, she pursued her dream of being an artist and formally introduced her artwork to the public. Since her debut Baez’s work has been displayed through solo and group exhibitions, galleries, museums, and private collections throughout the United States. Her work has been featured in magazines, publications, and broadcast features such as Hispanic/Latino UNITY; Latinitas Magazine; Sun Sentinel’s; Haute Living Magazine and many others. Baez’s art has been a part of art donations and fundraisers such as ASPIRA OF NY and the 2014 NCFH art competition (which raised nearly $10,000 for scholarships). She was also a 2013 “100 Top Puerto Ricans in the USA” nominee by New York Hunter College’s Center for Puerto Rican Studies.

Currently living in Miami, Florida, Baez is both wife and mother of two. Through her art, she lives as an agent for community change dedicated to service and the cultural preservation and advancement of Puerto Rican art across the globe.
