Jill Harrington Nichols grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut. Spending countless days outdoors; at the beach, sailing and walking in the countryside instilled a deep appreciation of the natural beauty and wonder of nature.
Jill recently completed her MFA in painting at Western Connecticut State University. Her distinctive marks add a directness and freshness to her range of subject matter, from small in-situ seascapes to large constructed paintings. Her work reveals the transitory nature of life, and unveils the hauntingly familiar and wonders that can be found in ordinary daily encounters.
Her paintings are in many notable private collections and have been exhibited nationally in museums and galleries. Jill’s work is available at Geary Gallery in Darien, CT and Gallery 103 in Chester Vermont and through this site. Please leave a comment below or contact her via email.
Jill currently resides in Huntington, Connecticut. Jill paints as much as possible and enjoys teaching painting and sharing her knowledge.
